Travel Details
We have done our best to provide some travel details to make your trip easier!
By Plane
Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport in Madrid is the closest international airport, approximately 1 hour away from the city of Toledo and Cigarral de las Mercedes.
By Car
If you are renting a car, we recommend downloading maps of the Madrid and Toledo areas to view offline or utilizing a GPS through your rental car agency. Once in Toledo, parking in the old town is limited. If you are staying in the old town, make sure to ask your hotel/rental about parking options. Cigarral de las Mercedes has plenty of free parking for all of our guests attending our wedding. See link below for directions.
By Train
If taking the train from the airport to Toledo, the C1 bus runs every 30 mins at the Madrid–Barajas Airport to Madrid Estación Puetra de Atocha – Almudena Grandes (Madrid’s main train station). From there, a non-stop Renfe train runs to Toledo every hour. Having arrived, the Toledo train station is a 3 minute taxi ride to the old town and 8 minutes to Cigarral de las Mercedes. Major Spanish and European train lines also run to Madrid Estación de Atocha.
Where To Stay
We considered a traditional hotel block, but Toledo is such an interesting and beautiful place to experience that we did not want to limit our guests’ options. There are many hotels and Airbnbs near the venue, both on the hillside where the venue lies, as well as in the old town. If you need any help finding the right accommodations, don’t hesitate to reach out to Colin and Diana.
